One thing I noticed though was the countdown (around 30 mins) didn’t change at all, but it finished in around 15 mins (80MB per second transfer speed according to Migration). (Migration only gives you the main user folder options, you cannot go into sub folders and select them).

On Windows I moved just the audio archive folder to the empty “Videos” user folder so nothing extra was slowing the transfer. Then after configuring some “Apple Music”(previously iTunes) application preferences (disable auto-add/convert to iTunes folder etc), I proceeded with “Migration” using hard-wire Ethernet cable following Apple’s instructions.

Just left “Find my” on, then updated to Big Sur (this took longer than I expected, maybe I’m spoiled with the speed of iOS updates).Īfter the update finished I turned on “automatically update” (under System preferences>Software update) and checked every box (“ auto install updates” etc). It was always great to see designers I work with laugh when I show them the PureMusic UI, but I am happy to no longer be looking at it myself - someone was on acid when they designed those visuals.Firstly signed in with Apple ID since this was required for the iOS iTunes remote App, then spent a lot of time un-syncing iCloud and deleting all traces of what was synced.

And, no more wading through menus and restarting the app to change DACs between my portable and desktop rigs.īitperfect seems to use only a fraction of the RAM previously used by PureMusic, looking at the ActivityMonitor I love this feature, because Photoshop and Illustrator are busy using the rest of the 8GB I have on my system. You know what else I love? Playing back gapless tracks without waiting for the whole album to load into memory. Oh, yeah, and I can scrub the track progress back-and-forth and easily re-listen to my favorite riffs you know, the way iTunes used to work before I started using Pure Music.

I am using my MacBook Pro with an AQ DragonFly (mobile) or a NuForce Icon HDP+u192s (home) and it's great to be able to use the track skip (RW/FF), play/pause and volume controls again on the keyboard. well executed, transparent app! I have finally woken up from my PureMusic user experience nightmare. Changed the file name in Get Info and played 1.06 to my heart's content. Finally, the App Store DL'd the new version which appeared as 1.04 in my applications folder. To get the App Store to DL 1.06 to my Mac Mini where I had various versions after 1.04 took a bit of negotiating. Hopefully it will actually show up on the App Store sometime soon!

It is a free upgrade for all existing BitPerfect users. BitPerfect does not support streamed sources.īitPerfect version 1.0.6 has now been released to the App Store.

You are playing from an iTunes Home Sharing library. Many tracks downloaded from iTunes are infected by DRM, but this has not been the case for quite some time now. You are playing tracks which contain DRM or other copyright protection schemes.

Read our on-line User Manual carefully for a description of how the Permissions Scan process works.

You did not execute the Permissions Scan properly, and you have not granted BitPerfect permission to play the file.

There are several reasons why BitPerfect may not be controlling playback: If it does not turn green, then BitPerfect is not controlling playback. When BitPerfect is playing (and hog mode is in operation) BitPerfect's status bar icon turns green. With BitPerfect, hog mode is automatically selected when BitPerfect is playing.
